About D'Archie
Music has always been my way of telling stories. Every composition starts with an emotion, an image or single melody that grows into something bigger.
D'Archie is the artist name of Dutch composer, producer and keyboard player Arjan Kiel. After an international career performing with the original Sister Sledge and the Dutch reggae band Luie Hond, he now focuses on creating original songs and cinematic scores that blend emotion, groove and storytelling.
From cinematic film scores to original songs, every composition is created to move, inspire and tell a story.
In 2015, a feature film featuring Arjan Kiel's complete original score received the Dutch Golden Calf Audience Award.
With decades of experience as a keyboard player, producer and arranger, D'Archie combines musical craftsmanship with a passion for emotion, melody and atmosphere. Whether writing for film or creating original songs, the goal is always the same: music that connects with people.
Over several years, Arjan collaborated creatively with Jon Anderson (Yes), exchanging original piano, orchestral- and choral compositions. These collaborations inspired vocal and narrative recordings by Anderson, while Arjan also created orchestral and choral arrangements for Anderson's music.
